White Horses of Camargue — Grace in Motion

Fine Art horse photography capturing the power, elegance and timeless beauty of Camargue's white horses

Few sights are as captivating as white horses galloping through the shallow waters of Camargue, their movements creating an extraordinary dialogue between strength and grace.

Against the soft colours of the marshes, splashing water, flowing manes and fleeting reflections transform each movement into a unique photographic composition.

From intimate portraits to dramatic silhouettes at sunset, this collection celebrates the beauty and spirit of these remarkable horses through light, movement and emotion.

The story behind the photographs

When movement becomes poetry

Photographing the white horses of Camargue is an experience where movement, water and light come together in a remarkable way. I am particularly drawn to the contrast between their powerful gallop and the delicate patterns created by splashing water. In black and white, these moments become almost sculptural, revealing the lines, textures and energy of the horses.

As the sun begins to set, the atmosphere changes. Backlighting transforms their manes into glowing outlines, while reflections and silhouettes bring a quieter, more contemplative dimension to the photographs. Whether capturing a herd in motion or the expression of a single horse, I seek to convey the elegance and timeless spirit of these animals.
