Île de Ré — Between Salt, Sea and Sky
A photographic journey through the quiet landscapes and living world of the Atlantic coast
Île de Ré is a place shaped by light, water and time. Salt marshes stretch towards the horizon, wildlife moves quietly between land and sea, and the Atlantic constantly redraws the edge of the island.
This album brings together photographs made while wandering through these changing landscapes — from the geometry and colours of the salt marshes to birds, small forms of life, long exposures by the ocean and the night sky above the Phare des Baleines.
Thirty years after my first visit, I returned with a different way of looking: less interested in capturing a place than in taking the time to notice what it reveals.
