Canada — Reflections of the Wild

A photographic journey through turquoise lakes, mountain landscapes and wildlife in Western Canada

What stays with me most about Canada is the extraordinary colour of its lakes. Their turquoise waters, the reflections of mountains and forests, and the surrounding silence create an almost unreal sense of calm.

This album brings together photographs of the Canadian Rockies, particularly Banff and Jasper National Parks, alongside landscapes and wildlife from Western Canada. From glacial lakes and waterfalls to encounters with animals in their natural environment, each image reflects a different aspect of this remarkable wilderness.

Beyond the grandeur of the scenery, I remember the quiet moments most vividly: watching the light change across the water, discovering new reflections and observing wildlife at close range, always with respect for its space.

The story behind the photographs

Glacial lakes, changing light and encounters with wildlife

The turquoise colours of many lakes in the Canadian Rockies come from fine glacial rock particles suspended in the water. Changing light and weather continually transform their appearance. Beyond these remarkable landscapes, observing wildlife in its natural surroundings added another dimension to this photographic journey.
