Salt Marsh Veins
Île de Ré, France · Earth as Matter
Signed Limited Edition Fine Art Print - From the Earth as Matter collection
The Story
From above, the marsh revealed a network of channels as intricate as veins beneath the skin.
On Île de Ré, the salt marshes form a landscape of narrow waterways and shallow basins. Seen from a higher viewpoint, their branching lines create an intricate geometry, softened by the irregular shapes and reddish tones of the surrounding vegetation.
What caught my attention was the relationship between these different elements. Water follows its course through a landscape shaped by generations of human activity, while the vegetation introduces its own colours and patterns.
I wanted to photograph this meeting of structure and nature without the usual landmarks. From this perspective, the salt marsh becomes an abstract composition of lines, textures and colour — a place where human intervention and natural processes remain closely intertwined.

Printing, Edition & Authenticity
All artworks are professionally produced by WhiteWall, an internationally recognised Fine Art printing laboratory known for its high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
Each presentation uses a carefully selected Fine Art paper:
Epson Fine Art Cotton Smooth Natural for unframed paper prints.
Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta for Dibond-mounted prints, framed or unframed.
Each size is produced in a strictly limited edition of 15 signed and numbered prints, shared across all available finishes. Choosing a different presentation does not create a separate edition.
Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Once the edition of 15 for a given size is complete, the work will no longer be available in that size.
In addition, no more than 30 prints of the same photograph will be produced across all sizes and finishes combined.
Once this overall limit is reached, the photograph will be permanently withdrawn from sale in every size and finish.
