The Story
Two harbor seals were resting on the same small piece of floating ice, each facing a different direction. One appeared alert to its surroundings, while the other seemed entirely at ease.
I was drawn to the contrast between their postures. Sharing such a limited space, they seemed to have found a quiet understanding, each occupying its own place without disturbing the other.
What stayed with me was the relationship between these two animals and the ice beneath them. Their resting place was temporary, a small drifting platform surrounded by a vast expanse of water.
Watching them, I couldn't help wondering how a warming climate might change the places where animals like these find shelter and rest. Would such quiet scenes become harder to encounter?
Ice Rest preserves a peaceful moment, but also leaves me with a question about the future of the world these animals inhabit.

Presented in a handcrafted 20 mm solid wood Hamburg-style frame, available in Natural Oak or Alder Brown.
Combining the stability of Dibond with the warmth of solid wood, this presentation offers a refined, contemporary finish without additional glass or acrylic glazing.
Printing, Edition & Authenticity
All artworks are professionally produced by WhiteWall, an internationally recognised Fine Art printing laboratory known for its high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
Each presentation uses a carefully selected Fine Art paper:
Epson Fine Art Cotton Smooth Natural for unframed paper prints.
Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta for Dibond-mounted prints, framed or unframed.
Each size is produced in a strictly limited edition of 15 signed and numbered prints, shared across all available finishes. Choosing a different presentation does not create a separate edition.
Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Once the edition of 15 for a given size is complete, the work will no longer be available in that size.
In addition, no more than 30 prints of the same photograph will be produced across all sizes and finishes combined.
Once this overall limit is reached, the photograph will be permanently withdrawn from sale in every size and finish.
