The Story
It clung beneath the dried seed head of a teasel, holding on long after the plant itself had died.
I was drawn to this small snail resting on the remains of a plant that seemed to have reached the end of its life. The contrast was striking: a fragile living creature finding support among the rigid, weathered structures of a dried stem.
At first glance, there was little to attract attention. Yet through the lens, this modest encounter revealed something I find deeply moving about nature. Even when a plant has withered, it can continue to provide a place for another life to pause.
I wanted to preserve that quiet relationship, allowing the snail's delicate presence and the plant's rough textures to share the composition.
Hanging On reflects one of the essential ideas behind The Invisible Life: that life continues in unexpected places, often hidden within what we might otherwise consider finished or forgotten.

Presented in a handcrafted 20 mm solid wood Hamburg-style frame, available in Natural Oak or Alder Brown.
Combining the stability of Dibond with the warmth of solid wood, this presentation offers a refined, contemporary finish without additional glass or acrylic glazing.
Printing, Edition & Authenticity
All artworks are professionally produced by WhiteWall, an internationally recognised Fine Art printing laboratory known for its high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
Each presentation uses a carefully selected Fine Art paper:
Epson Fine Art Cotton Smooth Natural for unframed paper prints.
Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta for Dibond-mounted prints, framed or unframed.
Each size is produced in a strictly limited edition of 15 signed and numbered prints, shared across all available finishes. Choosing a different presentation does not create a separate edition.
Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Once the edition of 15 for a given size is complete, the work will no longer be available in that size.
In addition, no more than 30 prints of the same photograph will be produced across all sizes and finishes combined.
Once this overall limit is reached, the photograph will be permanently withdrawn from sale in every size and finish.
