The Story

The shell carried its own geometry, while the living body slowly extended beyond it.

I was drawn to this small snail in the Camargue by the contrast between its beautifully striped shell and the soft, almost fluid movement of the creature emerging from it. One seemed perfectly structured; the other was constantly changing.

As I watched, I waited for the snail to extend into the light. Through the lens, the familiar spiral became an intricate piece of natural architecture, while the delicate body revealed a very different texture and rhythm.

What fascinated me was how these two forms belonged to the same living creature. The shell offered protection, yet life continued to unfold beyond its boundaries.

Borrowed Home is a quiet reflection on shelter and movement, on the remarkable balance between permanence and change, and on the unexpected complexity of even the most familiar forms of life.

Printing, Edition & Authenticity

All artworks are professionally produced by WhiteWall, an internationally recognised Fine Art printing laboratory known for its high-quality materials and craftsmanship.

Each presentation uses a carefully selected Fine Art paper:

  • Epson Fine Art Cotton Smooth Natural for unframed paper prints.

  • Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta for Dibond-mounted prints, framed or unframed.

Each size is produced in a strictly limited edition of 15 signed and numbered prints, shared across all available finishes. Choosing a different presentation does not create a separate edition.

Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Once the edition of 15 for a given size is complete, the work will no longer be available in that size.

In addition, no more than 30 prints of the same photograph will be produced across all sizes and finishes combined.

Once this overall limit is reached, the photograph will be permanently withdrawn from sale in every size and finish.
